Sound Designer β€” Audio Lead & Creator Mentor STAGEΒ

About the Role

Every title STAGE releases is watched on a phone speaker, β‚Ή500 earbuds, or a smart TV in a noisy room β€” and sound is where most of that experience is won or lost. We're looking for a Sound Designer who can do two things at once: mentor our creators to design and deliver great sound themselves, and personally handle the specialist work and final quality bar that every release needs.

This isn't a mixing-desk-only role. You'll build the audio standard, curriculum, and certification path for an entire creator base, while also owning hands-on mix, restoration, and design work on our flagship titles β€” including AI-native audio for Stage Studio.

What You'll Do

  • Build and run a structured audio curriculum and certification program that takes creators from basic mix problems to independent, on-spec delivery
  • Hold final audio sign-off and quality gate across every title, promo, trailer, and short-form asset
  • Define and maintain the house audio standard β€” loudness targets, file specs, QC checklist β€” across all delivery platforms (mobile, CTV, YouTube, short-form, broadcast)
  • Deliver hands-on dialogue editing, cleanup, ADR/dubbing supervision, Foley, ambience design, and final mixes on flagship titles
  • Clean up and design space for AI-generated/voice-cloned dialogue β€” solving continuity, room tone, and artifact issues unique to synthetic audio
  • Supervise dub mixes and maintain clean M&E stems so any title can be redubbed into another regional language without a remix
  • Mentor in-house sound resources, freelancers, and vendor studios, and help shape the hiring bar for future audio roles

What We're Looking For

  • 6–10 years in post-production sound for film, series, or OTT, with shipped credits
  • A genuine track record of mentoring β€” people you trained who now work independently
  • Strong command of loudness standards and delivery specs (LUFS, true peak, LRA) and the ability to explain them clearly to non-technical creators
  • A showreel demonstrating dialogue-forward mixing, not just sound design highlights
  • Experience with or clear understanding of mobile-first mixing
  • Fluency in Hindi; ability to judge dialogue/dialect quality in a regional language is a strong plus
  • Comfort holding a quality bar under deadline pressure
  • Genuine willingness to teach and delegate rather than do it all yourself

Good to Have

  • Dubbing supervision across regional Indian languages
  • Experience building a QC process or standard from scratch
  • Experience writing documentation or running training/workshops
  • 5.1 or immersive mixing credits
  • Scripting ability (Python, batch processing, loudness automation)

Tools: Pro Tools (or Nuendo/Reaper), iZotope RX, a BS.1770-compliant loudness meter, FabFilter/Waves/Soothe, and working familiarity with AI audio tools (TTS, voice cloning, source separation).

How to Apply

Please share:

  • Showreel or links to 2–3 released titles you mixed, with a one-line note on your role in each
  • A raw dialogue recording of yours β€” before and after cleanup
  • A short explainer sample (5-min screen recording or a one-page note) teaching a beginner one audio concept
  • A short note on how you'd approach making AI-generated dialogue sound like it was recorded in a real room
  • CV and current notice period
