Our purpose is to create a safe and reliable world, and our mission is to deliver assurance through precise technical and professional services.   Applied Technical Services is seeking an Environmental Specialist who will perform basic environmental consultant technical tasks ranging from inspecting, environmental air monitoring, documenting field data and daily onsite activities, as well as organizing inspection results and data under the direct supervision of the Environmental Operations Manager.   Responsibilities:  Conduct asbestos, lead paint, mold, and indoor air quality (IAQ) inspections. Perform air monitoring and work practice observations during asbestos, lead, and mold abatement activities. Supervise abatement projects and ensure proper compliance with work practices and safety standards. Write reports detailing survey findings, air monitoring results, and abatement activities. Prepare proposals for inspections and air quality assessments. Perform mold and indoor air quality surveys. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred; high school diploma or equivalent (GED) required. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience conducting asbestos, lead, mold, and indoor air quality investigations, including air monitoring during and following remediation efforts Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and guidelines with a willingness to continue learning. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly document and present findings. Excellent customer service and client-facing communication skills. Proven success using project management skills. Comfortable working at heights ranging from approximately 100 to 1,000 feet. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds of equipment and materials as needed. Ability to work at least 40 hours per week on a flexible schedule. Flexibility to support occasional night and weekend work for abatement monitoring. Approximately 20% regional travel required. Must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record in accordance with company insurance requirements. Must be able to successfully pass a background check. Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance is required.
