Overview

Virginia Oncology Associates, the largest group of medical professionals in Hampton Roads and Northeast North Carolina devoted exclusively to cancer care and blood disorders, has multiple opportunities available for a Medical Chart Preparation Tech to support our Southside Region. Training will require travel to our office in Norfolk.

Employment Type: Full-Time, In-Person

Compensation Range: $20.80/hr - $25.62/hr

 

Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors such as, relevant experience, education, certifications, licensure, and skills that align with the role.  


Responsibilities

  • Obtains all necessary patient records as required by physician prior to treatment or procedures.
  • Assist in preparing and filing all internal and external correspondence and medical reports into patient medical record according to filing system.
  • Coordinate with lab to confirm ordering and processing of needed patient labs; obtain results accordingly.
  • Communicate with care team to coordinate patient appointments with availability of pending results.
  • Other administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 3 years office experience preferred, preferably in a medical office setting.
  • Previous experience in a medical records department strongly preferred.
  • Must be willing to travel to other offices as needed.

Vision must be correctable to 20/20 and hearing must be in the normal range for telephone contacts.
