Planning Coordinator and Business CoachÂ

DescriptionÂ
The Planning Coordinator & Business Coach supports entrepreneurs through the I-HOPE Women's Business Center (WBC) while leading training programs, coordinating events, and providing one-on-one business coaching. This role blends program management, marketing, public relations, client counseling, and administrative responsibilities to ensure community engagement and successful program outcomes.
This position is ideal for a highly organized, people-centered professional who enjoys guiding small business owners, managing events, and creating impactful educational experiences.Â
Key ResponsibilitiesÂ
Training, Workshops & Events (35%)Â
- Conduct workshops, orientations, and counseling sessions (in-person, virtual, one-on-one, and group).Â
- Facilitate class preparation, including emailing, scheduling, materials development, promotion, and networking.Â
- Provide training directly or coordinate with external trainers and subject matter experts.Â
- Develop and deliver statewide networking programs.Â
- Oversee Growth Wheel Learning Management System (LMS).Â
- Support special projects and programming in rural areas.Â
Business Coaching & Mentorship (25%)Â
- Provide one-on-one business coaching on business planning, financial planning, EIN registration, and state filings.Â
- Track client progress and provide ongoing guidance.Â
- Assist entrepreneurs in navigating complex processes in manageable steps.Â
Marketing, Public Relations & Outreach (25%)Â
- Serve as marketing and public relations coordinator for the WBC.Â
- Develop social marketing plans and manage press/media outreach, including rural markets.Â
- Assist with social media, newsletters, and event promotion using Canva and Mailchimp.Â
- Update the WBC website with clear communication for events and programs.Â
- Facilitate marketing communications to increase program awareness.Â
Administrative & Data Management (10%)Â
- Maintain accurate client and program records using Center Dynamics (Center IC) and Nexus.Â
- Provide required reports to the SBA via CRM systems for EDMIS.Â
- Track and report in-kind contributions monthly.Â
- Participate in meetings, conference calls, and planning sessions.Â
- Provide workshop information for web and newsletter updates.Â
- Serve as a liaison for I-HOPE WBC volunteers.Â
Organizational Support (5%)Â
- Support Increasing H.O.P.E. events, scheduling, and administrative tasks.Â
- Serve as a committee member on a Strategic Anchor for I-HOPE WBC.Â
- Perform additional duties as assigned.Â
RequirementsÂ
Preferred Education:Â
- Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Hospitality, Business, Social Work, Counseling, Education, or related fields.Â
- OR 3+ years of experience in business coaching, program support, or related areas (7+ years accepted in lieu of a degree).Â
Skills & Competencies:Â
- Strong communication, marketing, PR, and interpersonal skills.Â
- Project management and leadership abilities.Â
- Highly organized with strong time management and multi-tasking skills.Â
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and various software platforms; CRM experience preferred.Â
- Experience with Canva, Mailchimp, and social media applications.Â
- Risk management experience is a plus.Â
- Ability to work occasional evenings/weekends for events.Â
