Senior Product Manager (Cary, NC - Onsite)

Other Location is Overland Park - Onsite

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITES:

•        This role serves as a strategic Senior ProductManager accountable for the ServiceNow portfolio product management functionswithin D&IT Business Systems. The Senior Product Manager owns andcontinuously improves product management discipline across the ServiceNowportfolio and is Accountable (A of RACI) for portfolio process, intakediscipline, prioritization framework, release management governance, roadmapclarity, stakeholder management, value visibility and executive decisionreadiness.

•        The ideal candidate is a strong productmanagement practitioner who can operate across multiple ServiceNow domains,bring clarity to ambiguous needs, translate strategy into executable work. Thecandidate will lead the adoption of D&IT’s Digital Product Operating Model(DPOM) ways of working, ensuring that application investments are intentionallyselected, objectively prioritized, architecturally sound, and continuouslymeasured to deliver enduring business value, not one-off project outputs.

 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

•        Own the ServiceNow portfolio product managementdiscipline, including intake, prioritization, roadmap governance, releasemanagement guardrails, stakeholder rhythm, and executive visibility.

•        Define standards for roadmap management,backlog health, prioritization, intake readiness, user story quality, valuemeasurement, release readiness, and stakeholder decision-making.

•        Introduce practical product management tools,templates, and routines aligned to D&IT Product Management ways of working.

•        Partner with D&IT Product Managementleadership for mentorship, coaching, and practice alignment.

•        Delegate and guide tactical product executionto Product Owner while remaining Accountable for the portfolio-level processand decision framework.

•        Accountable for roadmap alignment to theServiceNow platform strategy, governance model, Digital Product Operating Modelprinciples, and measurable business outcomes

•        Own the portfolio prioritization model andbacklog governance standards while the Product Owner remains Responsible forday-to-day backlog grooming and readiness.

•        Partner with Product Leads to ensure backlogitems are clear, actionable, and aligned to business value, risk, platformhealth, and strategic priorities.

•        Set Definition of Ready expectations forrefinement, including business need, value statement, acceptance criteria,dependencies, risk, UX impact, release consideration, and measurable outcome.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

•        12+ years of product management, productownership, business analysis, or enterprise platform experience.

•        Experience managing or supporting complextechnology product portfolios.

•        Strong understanding of product managementpractices, including roadmap development, backlog management, prioritization,user story writing, and stakeholder alignment.

•        Demonstrated ability to translate ambiguousbusiness needs into structured, actionable requirements.

•        Experience working in Agile, hybrid Agile, orscaled delivery environments.

•        Strong facilitation skills with the ability toalign business, technical, and delivery stakeholders.

•        Ability to operate in a matrixed environmentwithout direct authority.

•        Strong written communication skills, includingexecutive-ready summaries, decision documentation, and product materials.

•        Demonstrated ability to manage competingpriorities across multiple workstreams.

•        Experience serving as Accountable productmanager for portfolio process, prioritization, release governance, roadmaptrade-offs, stakeholder alignment, and executive decision readiness.

•        Experience with ServiceNow or anotherenterprise workflow platform.

•        Experience supporting ITSM, ITAM, SPM, SecOps,IRM, ITOM, Employee Experience, or enterprise service management capabilities.

•        Familiarity with Product Operating Modelpractices.

•        Experience helping establish product managementdiscipline in a maturing platform or transformation environment.

•        Experience with value-based prioritization, KPIdevelopment, and product performance reporting.

•        ServiceNow CSA, Product Owner, Agile, Scrum, orproduct management certification preferred but not required.

•        Experience applying portfolio rationalization,technical debt, release governance, and measurable outcome practices in anenterprise platform environment.

•        Bachelor's Degree (in Business, Engineering,Technology, Computer Science or related field), preferred or equivalentexperience.
