ELECTRICALCAD DESIGNER (Permanent)
Our client, an international manufacturing organization withheadquarters in WNY, is looking to hire an Electrical CAD Designer to jointheir growing team.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, terminal schedules, panel layouts, and cable routing drawings using AutoCAD and SolidWorks Electrical
  • Maintain/update electrical drawing packages supporting power distribution, control systems, instrumentation, and packaged HVAC equipment
  • Create general arrangement (GA) equipment layout, and installation drawings within site and manufacturing requirements
  • Ensure bills of materials (BOMs), cable schedules, and drawing revision documents are up to date and accurate
  • Create and maintain electrical and engineering documentation within PDM/PLM systems according to project requirements, company standards, and ensure all revisions are properly controlled
  • Ensure drawings are created according to customer specifications, up to electrical codes, and comply with organizational standards
  • Manage drawing updates and support change orders throughout the lifecycle of each project
  • Utilize support from manufacturing and production teams to effectively resolve design, documentation, and assembly-related issues in a timely manner
  • Provide accurate electrical documentation to support panel fabrication, equipment wiring, and testing activities
  • Review and incorporate supplier and vendor documentation into project drawing packages
  • Assist with prototype builds, process improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with various internal teams to ensure documentation accuracy and project readiness
  • Act as a subject matter expert when participating in design reviews in order to enhance product quality, manufacturability, and operational efficiency
  • Resolve drawing-related issues and provide accurate electrical documentation in an effort to support successful project execution and completion
  • Work well both independently and in a team environment
  • Other duties as assigned/as necessary

 

Details:

  • Position is full-time, direct hire
  • 100% in-office
  • $70,000 - $110,000 annually depending on experience

  • 3+ years’ experience creating electrical production drawings, control systems designs, and manufacturing drawings
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Design, or related preferred; comparable experience will offset a degree
  • Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks Electrical Schematic & 3D
  • Excellent attention to detail & accuracy
  • Strong organizational & time management skills
  • Self-motivated, but collaborative and team oriented
  • Relocation not available
