6 Month Contract With A Local Authority


Job Purpose

To undertake statutory educational psychology assessments for children and young people, providing high-quality psychological advice and recommendations to support the Local Authority in meeting its statutory responsibilities for Education, Health and Care (EHC) needs assessments.




Key Responsibilities

  • Complete statutory educational psychology assessments in accordance with relevant legislation and guidance.
  • Produce high-quality psychological advice and assessment reports within agreed timescales.
  • Gather and analyse information from children, families, schools, and other professionals to inform assessments.
  • Provide evidence-based recommendations to support educational planning and outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with schools, parents, carers, and multi-agency professionals throughout the assessment process.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure all work complies with professional, ethical, and legislative standards.
  • Manage an allocated caseload and deliver assessments efficiently.


Requirements

  • Qualified Educational Psychologist with relevant professional qualifications.
  • Registration with the appropriate professional body (where applicable).
  • Experience completing statutory Education, Health and Care (EHC) assessments.
  • Strong report writing, assessment, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
