Description of the Position: (Purpose of the Position):

The work of the digital dance assistant (DDA) is important to the external visibility and internal operation of the Dance Department via digital media production and distribution. The DDA student workers organize, capture, process and distribute dance department media in accordance with the program’s ongoing purposes and needs.

Student must have a need-based work award.

Observance, responsibility, dependability, punctuality, independence, organization, management of time and tasks, discretion, oral and written communication, digital file organization and manipulation


Duties and Responsibilities: 

  1. Digital media production for archival, streaming, web development, and in house distribution of the Dance Department’s video and photograph collection.

  2. Update relevant documentation required for the implementation of projects.

  3. Dance Department social media content planning, research, creation, distribution, organization, and management.

  4. Participate in ongoing planning of projects.

  5. Consult with Dance Department faculty/staff on media production projects.

  6. Perform related miscellaneous dance department tasks for supervisor.



Qualifications: (Education/Experience/Skills) 

  1. Experience with use of digital technologies: digital video editing, web development, and digital file management (Adobe Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, Compressor, FileZilla, WordPress, Google Spreadsheets) are extremely helpful, but not required if applicant has a keen interest and ability in acquiring these skills.

  2. Experience and familiarity with or desire to learn various social media
