Description of the Position: (Purpose of the Position): 

To help the course instructor deliver and facilitate a high-quality laboratory experience that enables the planning and execution of student generated projects with GPS instruments, remote sensing data, and GIS software.

Transferable Skills: 

  • Communication – speak, listen, present, provide feedback

  • Problem solve & trouble-shoot

  • Collaborative project development

  • Proficiency with ArcGIS software 

Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Provide content support sessions

  • Provide feedback and supplemental instruction to peers 

     

Qualifications: (Education/Experience/Skills) 

  • Completed the GIS and Remote Sensing (EnvSt 255) course or the equivalent

  • Quantitative and/or mapping skills using software, such as, Google Earth or ArcGIS

  • Experience with the planning and execution of GIS related field projects

  • Clear and enthusiastic oral and written communication

  • Understand the needs of students with diverse backgrounds and identities
