Production Support Staff


Position Summary

The Production Support Staff is responsible for graphics, audio, and video of the BCSN productions or any other duties needed throughout productions. Primary job function requires the employee to work independently using creativity and/or originality to contribute to production as needed.

The Production Support Staff reports directly to the Operations Supervisors. While at events the activities of the Production Support Staff are led by the event Director.

This position has no direct reports.

The Production Support Staff will work as a member of a team, promoting a positive attitude and feeling of well-being towards co-workers.

The Production Support Staff frequently interfaces with the following positions: Production Manager, Operations Manager, Director/Producer, and Production Staff.

Essential Functions

  • Working out of a Mobile Production Unit – set and strike in a safe and orderly manner at every event;
  • Using production equipment to produce TV quality games, shows, news announcements and in-house promotions;
  • Driving on the job as needed to perform job duties;
  • Performing equipment checks and notifying directors when equipment in the Production Unit needs repair;
  • Organizing and delivering tapes/disks to appropriate locations;
  • Accurately completing associated paperwork;
  • Following and enforcing the Company’s policies and procedures, including the EEO guidelines and safety, at all times;
  • Performing any miscellaneous department duties as needed.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent – required
  • Associate degree in communications or equivalent related work experience – preferred
  • 1 year prior related work experience – preferred
  • 1 year experience with sports production – preferred

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

  • Physical Demands:
  • Walking, kneeling, standing, lifting (up to 75 pounds regularly), assembling scaffolding, stooping, climbing (stairs/scaffolding), sitting, driving, seeing (close, distant, color, depth perception, adjust focus), hearing, talking, using hands and fingers to grasp, hold, pick-up, use keyboard, drive, etc.
  • Working Conditions:
  • The Production Support Staff is a non-exempt, contingent position, working on an as needed basis less than 20 hours per week, either daytime, evening or weekend hours
  • The Production Support staff is required to be available a minimum of 3 days per week from noon to 10pm, including Fridays and Saturdays.
  • The Production Support Staff reports to the actual event location.
  • The Production Support Staff works in a Mobile Production Unit or at an onsite facility.
  • The Production Support Staff is responsible for handling and using the Company’s equipment in an efficient and professional manner.
  • The Production Support Staff is required to drive on the job as needed and is subject to regular MVR checks. At all times, he/she must maintain a valid driver’s license and maintain a driving record that meets Company standards for an insurable driver. The Production Support Staff is subject to periodic MVR checks, and will be required to give written approval upon request.
  • Due to the Company’s need to provide consistently high-quality customer service and employee reinforcement training, the Company, as a standard practice, periodically monitors the crew performance, ability to complete the job and on-site behavior.
