Job Description:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Escort patients into exam rooms to prep for Physician visit
  • Pace visits and patient rooming accordingly. Communicate any delays in appointments to patients at time of rooming
  • Complete pre-visit requirements including reconciliation of medical lists, collecting vitals and lab collection. Update patient records in the EMR in time for physician visit
  • Draw blood from patients and deliver specimen to in house lab
  • Work collaboratively with the Medical Receptionist team to ensure Physician schedule is utilized appropriately
  • Monitor Physician inbox in EMR for messages, respond appropriately according to Physician workflow
  • Participates in department meetings and in-service training as required
  • Cover the front desk as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

None.

Experience

  • Medical Assistant Certification preferred but not required
  • High School diploma required
  • At least two years of experience working in a medical office with similar volume. Previous experience working in a Hematology and Oncology Office preferred
  • Previous experience working with an Electronic Medical Record system required
