We actively champion for full community inclusion and are a licensed and contracted service provider of the Connecticut Department of Development Services. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

The Nurse is responsible for presenting staff in-services relating to medication administration and nursing issues with adherence to Department of Developmental Services regulations and agency policies and procedures. They will ensure compliance with all state and regulatory reporting requirements.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
  • Minimum of 3-5yrs exp. in a clinical setting, preferably serving individuals with developmental and physical disabilities
  • Ability to attend the Department of Developmental Services Endorsed Instructor training course
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suit
  • Current State of CT RN License
  • The Nurse must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
  • May be exposed to the risk of injury or exposure to occupational health hazards      

Essential Functions: Ensures confidentiality as required by Law, The Arc ECT, and DDS policies and procedures which includes keeping records, conversations, correspondence (regarding program participants and staff) confidential.

  • Responsible for all aspects of delivering instruction for the Department of Developmental Services Medication Administration course
  • Treats all individuals in an age-appropriate manner, with respect and dignity
  • Maintains a professional and positive attitude when working with staff
  • Works with a spirit of cooperation with all departments
  • Carries own malpractice insurance
  • Carries out all job responsibilities in a professional manner
  • Maintains attendance. Adheres to policies on attendance, days of absence, and illness
  • Keeps supervisor informed of any significant events or the need to modify any area of the operation/activity
