Commitment to the college objective of providing instruction for a diverse student population. Excellent interpersonal, oral communication and writing skills. Knowledge of learning and assessment theories and methods and the relationship to the pedagogy of teaching. Possess a high level of technical skills and subject matter knowledge as it relates to a specific discipline. Evidence of initiative, resourcefulness and adaptability.

Qualifications

PREREQUISITES FOR POSITION (Qualification Standards):

 

Education or training:

 

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree. 

 

* Education must be received from a regionally accredited institution.

 

Years of experience in field:

 

A minimum of six-years’ experience as a regular member of an organized fire department.

 

Current State of Florida Bureau of Fire Standards and Training Fire Instructor III Certification.

 

Two years of teaching experience is preferred.

 

Physical ability to perform the tasks associated with the training.

 

Note: In order to determine the appropriate rate of pay for you, and for audit purposes, we need to have documentation of your credentials. It is important that you upload a copy of your transcript(s) when you submit your application. These transcripts should indicate the degree or certificate you were awarded at the completion of the training applicable to the position you’re applying for. If, for example, you were applying to be an instructor in the EMS program, and you had an AS Degree in that field, we’d need a transcript that showed that you received an AS Degree related to EMS.
