Description

The Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) isseeking a qualified Project Manager to join its Project Management Office (PMO)located in the agency’s Oklahoma City office. Within the PMO, the ProjectManager will work with the team to leverage resources, drive efficiencies, andensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet overallobjectives. The Project Manager will be responsible for the overall direction,coordination, implementation, execution, control, completion, and closing ofOSDH projects under the guidance and direction of the PMO, ensuring consistencywith the agency’s strategy, mission, commitments, and goals. The ProjectManager will serve as a primary contact for direction of agency resources andactivities as they relate to the life cycle of assigned projects. The ProjectManager will be responsible for the overall direction, coordination,implementation, execution, control, completion, and closing of OSDH projectsensuring consistency with the agency’s strategy, mission, commitments, andgoals. The Project Manager will manage vendor relationships and deliverableswithin project scope, removing blockers and escalating issues as needed.Responsibilities: • Manage medium to extra-large complexity projects throughfull project life cycle activities utilizing appropriate methodologies andtools, planning and communication, and acquire, develop, and manage the projectteam. • Perform all standard project management deliverables including scope andobjectives, change management, risk mitigation, budgeting, stakeholdercommunication, project and vendor engagement, subject matter expertutilization, implementation, and project closure. • Develop and manage projectstatus reports for communicating with project stakeholders and reporting keymetrics for the PMO dashboard. • Implement change management practices inaccordance with agency and PMO guidance. • Forecast, manage, and acquire (asnecessary) resources needed to achieve project objectives. • Ensure projectactivities and deliverables adhere to federal, state, or agency documentedguidelines. • Facilitate and manage contract processes from initiation toclosure. • Routinely perform gap analysis, root cause analysis, and offerrecommendations for successful project outcomes. • Demonstrate dynamic abilityto lead group facilitation activities for the agency especially in areasrequiring interaction of an independent party.

 

Requirements

Experience with Waterfall, Agile and Hybrid projectmanagement methodologies. • Strong familiarity with and/or the ability to useMS Project. • Understanding and experience with the Project ManagementInstitute's (PMI) Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) Guide andStandards. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the abilityto interact professionally with all levels of staff. • Strong analytical,problem-solving, and decision-making skills and multi-tasking capabilities. •Well-organized and detail oriented.
