We are seeking a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) or Senior MSL to join our HematologyĀ team in the territory ofĀ Missouri, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Arkansas! This role serves as the local medical voice of AZ in the disease area of interest and builds a local medical strategy to improve patient care and outcomes in their territory. The MSL is an established field-based professional with extensive scientific, clinical, and therapeutic area expertise responsible for providing medical and scientific support for AstraZeneca's oncology marketed products, new indications for current products, and compounds in development.  

  

WhatĀ you’llĀ doĀ 

  • Establishes oneself as a trusted scientific advisor, peer and expert by both internal stakeholders and external HCPs (e.g.Ā functions as an expert in response to scientific questions)Ā 

  • Synthesizes HCP insights from multiple HCP segments within a region and communicates with internal partnersĀ 

  • Serves as point of reference for the integration of science into proposed business strategies, training, and resourcesĀ 

  • Synthesizes and integrates research, and summarizes findings, in a compelling narrative for various HCP segmentsĀ 

  • Builds strong collaboration with key stakeholders across Medical Affairs, Commercial, and DevelopmentĀ 

  • Serves as a lead for clinical trials, research activities, and special projectsĀ 

  • Coaches other team members, provides input on MSL training content,Ā assistsĀ with MSL onboarding and leads MSLs in their responsibilities for congress scientific coverage and data synthesis support.Ā 

Minimum QualificationsĀ 

  • Advanced scientific degreeĀ requiredĀ (i.e.Ā Pharm D, MD/DO, PhD,Ā PAĀ or NP) in a relevant health science or clinical fieldĀ 

  • 2 plus years experience as a Medical Science Liaison or relevant experience in the therapeutic area

  • DemonstratedĀ expertiseĀ in delivering customer-related outcomes in targeted field/territoryĀ 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate scientific data to internal and external customersĀ 

  • Ability to work independently and in groupsĀ 

  • Demonstrated leadership skills,Ā initiativeĀ and problem-solving skillsĀ 

  • Excellent project management abilityĀ 

  • Ability to travel (40-60% by car and plane domestic)Ā 

Preferred QualificationsĀ 

  • Doctorate strongly preferred in a health science or clinical disciplineĀ 

  • Prior Medical Science Liaison experienceĀ 

  • Oncology experienceĀ 

  • Hematology experienceĀ 

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $174,455-$261,682. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.Ā  In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles) or to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an ā€œat-will positionā€ and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
