POSITION SUMMARY: 

Assist the science faculty with daily duties and maintain records and inventory of class assignments and equipment within the School of Math and Science. Lab duties are also required to further enhance content delivery to students.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain lab equipment and inventory 
  • Maintain files and curriculum documents
  • Serve as liaison for students and faculty
  • Schedule missed class exams, quizzes, and homework 
  • Work with lab assistance on scheduling missed labs, 
  • Maintain proficiency in lab procedures for all science labs,
  • Other pertinent duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A current Mid-America Christian University student in good standing
  • Completed first-year curriculum or 12 hours in the field of Math and Science
  • Eligible for Federal Work Study
  • Overall GPA above 3.0
  • Able to interact with other students and faculty effectively, follow lab safety protocol, follow directions without direct supervision, and have excellent character and morals
  • Complete FERPA training

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 12 hours in Math and Science courses.
  • Basic Computer Skills.

COMPUTER SKILLS: 

Experience with interactive computers programs, Excel, and Word.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 25 pounds (11.34 kilograms), ability to stand for long periods of time at one station.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

Working conditions may be indoors or outdoors with exposure to cold, heat and hazard materials. Occasional travel may be necessary.
