Position Overview:  

Devon’s Accounting and Tax Internships and Co-Ops provide students with the opportunity to learn and apply accounting and tax principles in a professional office environment. Students participate in both team and individual assignments, gaining exposure to real-world accounting tasks and projects. This program is designed to help students develop technical and professional skills while exploring potential career opportunities at Devon. 

 

Responsibilities:  

  • Perform duties typically assigned to entry-level accountants. 

  • Apply general accounting and tax concepts to daily, monthly, and quarterly assignments. 

  • Prepare and post journal entries; assist with general ledger reconciliations and account analysis. 

  • Assist with the preparation, review, and distribution of financial statements, management reports, and/or tax returns. 

  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and help identify opportunities for increased efficiency. 

  • Participate in diversified on-the-job assignments to enhance technical skills. 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with various departments. 

  • Present findings and learnings to team members and/or management. 

 

Technical Exposure:  

  • Exposure to accounting software and tools. 

  • Application of automation processes and LEAN principles in daily work. 

  • Application of technical skills acquired in college to real-world scenarios. 

  • Advanced computer proficiency, with the ability to optimize and automate processes. 

  • Curious and eager to explore AI, data, and technology, with opportunities to engage with emerging digital tools and innovations. 

 

Education 

  • Full-time student pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related disciplines. 

  • College level: Sophomore, Junior, or Senior. 

  • GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.
