Position Overview:  

Devon’s Engineering Internship provides students with the opportunity to learn and apply engineering principles in a professional environment. Students participate in both team and individual assignments, gaining exposure to real-world tasks and projects. This program is designed to help students develop technical and professional skills while exploring potential career opportunities at Devon. 

 

Responsibilities:  

  • Perform duties typically assigned to entry-level engineer.  

  • Apply general engineering principles, theories, and concepts to daily assignments. 

  • Collaborate with field staff to complete routine tasks related to the day-to-day management of drilling, completions, production, gas processing, and pipeline operations, with projects focused on addressing field challenges and creating value. 

  • Work in one of Devon’s Exploration and Production business units, assisting with technical evaluations, generating operational procedures, supporting reservoir performance assessments, and identifying developmental prospects. 

  • Leverage an understanding of field operations—ideally gained through field experience—to enhance project contributions. 

  • Gain diversified learning opportunities through on-the-job assignments, utilizing and expanding the technical skills acquired in college to support both technical and professional development. 

 

Technical Exposure:  

  • Advanced computer proficiency, with the ability to optimize and automate processes. 

  • Curious and eager to explore AI, data, and technology, with opportunities to engage with emerging digital tools and innovations. 

 

Education 

  • Full-time student pursuing a degree Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical Engineering or related disciplines. 

  • College level: Sophomore, Junior 

  • GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.
