JOB TITLE: Line Cook

OVERVIEW: The Line Cook position is responsible for prepare a variety of ingredients with precision, considering the anticipated volume of the day, follow recipes meticulously or adjust based on experience to achieve exceptional taste and quality, manage multiple ticket orders, cooking each dish promptly and accurately, ensuring timely delivery to the expo. The Line Cook must be professional, maintain a positive attitude, and uphold Mau Marine’s mission.

OKOBOJI STORE MISSION: Okoboji Store Bar & Kitchen will make every dining experience easy, enjoyable, and memorable for our customers. We will do this through an exceptional team dedicated to outstanding hospitality, quality food and drinks, and setting the standard for lakeside guest service.

POSITION RELATIONSHIPS:

Reports to: General Manager

Key Internal Relationships: Kitchen Managers, FOH Managers, Bar Managers, Cooks

Direct Reports: None

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

The following responsibilities will be expected for this position:

  • Maintain strict adherence to safe and hygienic food-handling practices in all food preparation and serving areas.
  • Prep kitchen tools and equipment by ensuring they are washed and functioning properly.
  • Prepare a variety of ingredients with precision, considering the anticipated volume of the day.
  • Follow recipes meticulously or adjust based on experience to achieve exceptional taste and quality.
  • Manage multiple ticket orders, cooking each dish promptly and accurately, ensuring timely delivery to the expo.
  • Conduct thorough tests to guarantee food is cooked to perfection; using methods such as taste, smell, or pierce.
  • Monitor and regulate cooking temperatures for ovens, fryers, and grills throughout service hours.
  • Execute a comprehensive end-of-day kitchen cleanup, maintaining impeccable hygiene standards; cleaning grills, taking out trash cans, wrapping up and storing foods, washing the floors, etc. 


REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must possess the following qualifications:

  • Previous experience in food preparation and cooking is not required but a plus
  • Flourishes in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently
  • Strong communication skills essential for effective teamwork
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
