Rehabilitation Counselor - Full Time - Days

JOB TITLE: Rehabilitation Counselor

CLASSIFICATION: Full Time, Non-Exempt

PROGRAM/DEPARTMENT:  Article 16 Clinic

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR:  Director of Clinical Services

POSITION SUMMARY:  Develop, implement and document rehabilitation counseling services including acting as a role model, job coaching and providing individual, and small group instruction. Incorporate assessments of individual’s needs, strengths and preferences; factoring economic, psychological, medical, education, social, etc that influence personal/vocational adjustment. Ensure services meet changing needs of the people we serve by evaluating and documenting progress against established goals; communicate unmet needs and other concerns to service providers. Participate in service plan adjustments, meetings and reviews as able. Review documentation, monitor program activities and conditions and act as the primary contact as needed to serve as a resource for information, guidance and assistance. Develop and recommend strategies to achieve goals and needs, provide referral and linkage to services, providing coaching, counseling, advocacy and conflict resolution.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education, Training & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, education or related field

Three (3) years’ experience providing rehabilitation services within a vocational setting

Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record and dependable transportation

Preferred Education, Training & Experience:
Masters Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling with clinical experience in a vocational setting

Six (6) months experience working in an outpatient clinic setting

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Valid New York State driver’s license that meets the Agency’s driving policy and dependable transportation

Ability to work flexible hours and travel throughout Cattaraugus County

Ability to react appropriately to emergency and other unusual/crisis situations

Effective communication skills, orally and in writing

Ability to develop positive working relationships with people we serve, external stakeholder and multiple levels of staff

Ability to identify areas of continuous improvement 

SALARY:

$24-28 per hour
