Description

We are looking for a machinist that knows their way around the world of manual mills, CNC machining center, manual lathes, manual drill presses, pneumatic saw, and hydraulic press.

Perform duties required for the set up and operation of manual mills, CNC machining center, CNC lathes, manual lathes, manual drill presses, pneumatic saw and hydraulic press along with the inspection of fabricated parts.

  • Able to review samples, drawings or instructions to understand specifications
  • Take measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping
  • Select appropriate machines and position or load material for job
  • Unload/deburr part, inspection of part with calipers, hole test gauges, thread gauges, etc.
  • Hold tolerances on part per print
  • Perform routine machine maintenance - maintain oil and coolant levels, clean out chip pan, clean and oil, etc.
  • Follow Instructions and safety regulations with a positive mental attitude
  • Self-motivated, ability and desire to learn, able to communicate clearly
  • Able to work 40 hours a week, extended hours may be required if necessary
  • Perform other duties as trained or required

Requirements

  • Basic machine shop knowledge
  • 2 years+ manual mill or manual lathe experience or graduated from accredited precision machining college or trade school
  • Ability to run CNC lathes and machining center
  • Capable of editing and writing CNC programs. Training will be provided.
  • Ability to machine single and multiple lead threads, right and left hand
  • Capable of performing setups and first part runs with minimal assistance
  • Maintain quality parts and low scrap rate
  • Welding experience is a plus but not necessary.
