Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Sterile Processing Professional, you will be a critical guardian of patient safety, ensuring surgical teams receive correct, fully functional, and sterile instrumentation.Every day, you will expertly perform decontamination, prep and pack, sterilization, and dispatch with efficiency, expertise, and accuracy, delivering instruments with resourcefulness, determination, courtesy, and professionalism. You will continuously expand your knowledge of standards and procedures for surgical instrumentation.To be successful in this role, you will possess exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a rigorous commitment to infection control, ensuring optimal surgical outcomes with a professional demeanor.

  • Responsible for cleaning, inspecting, processing, assembling, and sterilization of all instruments and equipment following Policy/Procedure, Industry Standards, and manufacturer Instructions for Use (IFU).
  • Practices Universal Precautions and follows OSHA requirements at all time.
  • Responsible for Performing daily/weekly testing and logging of all mechanical equipment, including but not limited to, Mechanical Washers, Sonic, all Sterilizers.
  • Maintains accurate and legible documentation.
  • Assists with the routine maintenance of instrumentation by identification of items needing repair.
  • Follows procedure for set assembly utilizing Instrument Checklists and/or Instrument Tracking where available.

Job Requirements

Required

  • High School Graduate General Studies, upon hire or
  • High School GED General Studies, upon hire and
  • Graduation from Sterile Processing Program. or Minimum 1 year experience, upon hire and
  • Certified and Registered Central Service Technician, upon hire or
  • Certified Sterile Processing and Dist Supervisor, upon hire or
  • Certified Sterile Processing and Dist Tech, upon hire or
  • Cert Sterile Processing Dist Tech, upon hire

Preferred

  • 2-5 years’ experience in Sterile Processing or Surgical Technician.
