Job Description
This is a production underwriting position responsible for marketing,Ā underwritingĀ and processingĀ assignedĀ lines of business.Ā

This is aĀ 100%Ā in-office position. Candidates must be able to work on-site at a designated company office during standard business hours.Ā
Ā
EssentialĀ Responsibilities:Ā
Review and price policies to verify acceptability based upon company underwriting guidelines and granted underwriting authority.Ā Ā
Utilize underwriting tools toĀ determineĀ accurateĀ classifications, rates, and premium charges.Ā
Interact in person, via email, and by phone with brokers to obtain further risk-specific details, negotiate terms and pricing, and explain company positions.Ā
Manage assignedĀ portfolioĀ in underwriting territory, including the performance (GWP, loss ratio) of assigned brokers.Ā
Create, analyze, and interpret data from various reports/dashboards.Ā
Complete underwriting analysis andĀ maintainĀ complete underwriting file.Ā
Resolve audit disputes within assigned territory.Ā
Review state laws, including cancellation and non-renewal, within assigned territory to properly transact business within the state.Ā
Participate in educational sessions within the department.Ā

Qualifications / Experience Required:Ā
Bachelorās degree and three-plus years related insurance experience and/or equivalent combination of educationĀ
Three years underwriting experience with authority, preferably in FI linesĀ
ProvenĀ track recordĀ of driving profitable growthĀ
Advanced knowledge of computer programs, including Word, Excel, and OutlookĀ
Demonstrates an understanding and ability to effectively engage in the negotiation processĀ
Strong oral and written communication skillsĀ
PreviousĀ insurance educational work, IIA and CPCU designation preferredĀ
Detail oriented with initiative and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environmentĀ
Excellent analytical skillsĀ
Ability to travelĀ

The base salary range provided below is for hires in those geographic areas only and will be commensurate with candidate experience. Pay ranges for candidates in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location.
In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus based on company and individual performance as well as a generous benefits package.
- Richmond & Omaha Pay Range $74,052 - $121,992
- Chicago Houston & Albany Pay Range $$81,294 - $134,232
- Los Angeles & New York City Pay Range $88,842 - $146,472
