Advanced Laser Systems Technology (ALST) has an immediate opening for a Business Operations Associate - Program Management. ALST is located in Orlando, Florida and is part of Intelligent Manufacturing Solutions (IMS) which is headquartered in Londonderry, NH. Requirements

 Job Summary

Responsible for supporting the planning, implementation, and evaluation of various programs and projects. Works as a business partner to Program Managers and functional leads to achieve program operational targets and drive overall business results.


COMPLEXITY & PROBLEM SOLVING

Works on problems of moderate scope which are often varied and routine where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Applies learned techniques and contributes to analysis and investigation to solve problems. Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments.


COLLABORATION & INTERACTION

Builds productive internal/external working relationships to resolve mutual problems by collaborating on procedures or transactions. Focuses on providing standard professional advice and creating initial reports/analyzes for review by experienced team professionals.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support daily operational activities, manage cross-functional workflows, and coordinate with internal teams to meet deadlines and deliverables 
  • Support pricing and project scheduling activities
  • Maintain operational trackers, spreadsheets, and reports; prepare weekly and monthly status updates; track KPIs and ensure data accuracy
  • Create and maintain operational records, update process documentation and SOPs, and support process improvement initiatives
  • Track project milestones to identify potential issues and ensure compliance in execution of projects, helping to define scope, goals, and deliverables through management of Integrated Master Scheduling
  • Acts as a liaison between teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and address program concerns
  • Administrative duties may include managing databases, data analysis, and providing recommendations to management
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED CAPABILITIES

  • U.S. Citizenship required 
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Clearance
  • Working knowledge of FAR/DFAR’s/ITAR
  • Experience with proposal and contract preparation for domestic and international DoD contracts
  • Ability to coordinate activities inter-company and with multiple departments such as Engineering, Operations, Finance, Customer Service, etc.
  • Strong project management skills and multitasking abilities 
  • Excellent communication (written/verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
  • Self-motivation and high attention to detail
  • Able and willing to take on new projects and learn additional aspects of the operation.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work additional hours, evenings and weekends, to meet customer commitments and business needs.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience; in lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
  • 2+ years’ experience with government contract analysis
  • 2+ years’ experience in a DoD environment
  • 2+ years' experience developing financial project reports, identifying risks and opportunities
  • 1+ year of experience with FAR, DFAR, ITAR
