The HR Generalist provides proactive human resources support for our retail operation members in various areas including training, recruitment, employee relations and benefits. The HR Generalist manages the delivery of our HR policies, executing business specific projects and initiatives relating to human resources decisions, safety programs, and company procedures. Provides support for management teams and associates by answering non-routine requests for information on policy interpretation, providing advice and counsel on employee issues and implementing practices and programs in support their regionally assigned area. This role has a strong employee relations and safety/risk management focus for the organization.Â
What You'll Do- Coaches and advises all levels of management in the areas of employee relations, performance management & risk management/safety support. Â
- Monitor employee counseling, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement plans; review involuntary termination procedures; and approve employee separation notices and related documentation. Â
- Mediates and resolves employee relations issues; conducts thorough and objective investigations when necessary; especially highly sensitive issues of sexual harassment and discrimination.Â
- Provide consultative support to Store Managers and field management in matters dealing with leadership development, performance management, corrective action and employee coaching developmentÂ
- Perform periodic HR training and auditsÂ
- Develop and drive incident reporting systemsÂ
- Ensure all documents pertaining to employees’ personnel files are scanned and indexed accordingly and within a timely mannerÂ
- Maintain company employee relations related records and documents in HRIS or recordkeeping systemÂ
- Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on employee relations mattersÂ
- Investigate, document and resolve employee complaints, grievances, and conflictsÂ
- Conduct workplace investigations and recommend appropriate actionsÂ
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulationsÂ
- Collaborate with HR/Benefits/Payroll/Training/Recruitment teams to develop and update policies and procedures related to employee relationsÂ
- Stay current on industry trends and best practices in employee relationsÂ
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.Â
Salary: 50K-60K DOE
- Minimum 1-3 years of human resources experience in a high-volume employee relations setting with at least 500+ employees.Â
- Bachelor’s Degree in HR, Applied Behavioral Sciences, Industrial Relations or another relevant field, or a combination of education and experience. Â
- Most possess a strong background managing complex employee relations investigations and resolving potential company litigation issues.Â
- Proven ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with employees, leadership, and external contacts.Â
- PHR/ SHRM-CP Certification preferred.Â
- Prior experience working in Retail is preferredÂ
- Knowledge of current employee relations practices, as well as State & Federal labor & employment lawÂ
- Must be results driven and provide a high quality of workÂ
- Must have Microsoft Office experience, specifically Outlook, Word and Excel and TeamsÂ
- Must be able to prioritize workload and multi-task assignments when facing a deadlineÂ
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including large group presentationsÂ
