Schedule: Weekdays with a choice of 5 Eight hour shifs or 4 - Ten hour shift during clinic hours

When you join our team of over 45 Outpatient Clinics across Central Florida, you will be part of a winning team of experts dedicated to whole-person care to help our patients heal, strengthen and renew.  We serve patients Orange, Seminole, Osceola, Polk, Volusia, Flagler and Lake Counties with a dedicated Team of therapists, clinicians and staff willing to carry on AdventHealth’s mission in the communities we serve.  

 As a Physical Therapist Assistant in an outpatient setting you will provide professional direct and indirect services to specific age groups in the outpatient rehabilitation settings. Utilizes process improvement in achieving the goals of the Sports Med and Rehab Department. Accept the responsibility to practice autonomously and collaboratively in all practice environments to provide best practice to the patient/client. Autonomous practice is characterized by independent, self-determined, professional judgment and action.

The role you’ll contribute:

Responsible for providing direct and indirect Physical therapy services under the supervision of a physical therapist in a professional manner and within hospital standards. This position delivers therapy aimed at improving patients' functional abilities and quality of life and adhers to the corporate compliance plan and all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, and federal agencies, and accrediting bodies.

• Supports consumer marketing and public awareness through participation in community events, educational lectures, and other extensions of clinical expertise to the community.

• Implements individualized treatment plans based on physical therapy evaluations and through consideration of practice standards, recommended techniques, insurance guidelines, and patient needs.

• Modifies treatment plans as necessary based on ongoing assessments in consultation with physical therapist.

• Collects patient data and communicates with the physical therapists regarding discharge recommendations when maximum benefit has been achieved.

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

• Associate's [Required] in Physical Therapy

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required] AND

• Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) [Required] OR

• Physical Therapy Assistant - TEMP (PTA-TEMP) [Required]
