The Assistant Professor is a valued and respected member of the University faculty who contributes as both an educator and mentor to students and colleagues. In this position, the faculty member—prepared at the master’s level—will design, develop, and deliver instruction within Physician Assistant courses, while also engaging in student advising and mentorship. The role encompasses the core academic responsibilities of teaching, service, scholarship, and research. Additional expectations include reviewing and updating departmental policies and procedures as needed, recommending community partnerships that enhance student learning experiences, and consistently demonstrating exceptional customer service. The Assistant Professor is accountable for fostering respectful and collaborative relationships within the academic and professional community.

  •                Develop and deliver instructional content, course objectives, and assessments that align with program outcomes, PANCE blueprint, and ARC-PA Standards.

  • Contribute to curriculum design and delivery that prepares students for success on the Physician Assistant National Certifying Exam (“PANCE”) examination and in clinical practice.

  • Promote inclusive teaching practices and contribute to an equitable learning environment.

  • Participate in simulation, OSCEs, skills labs, and small group facilitation.

  • Grade examinations and assignments, providing timely and constructive feedback to students



The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

  • Master's Required From A Physician Assistant Program or related higher education field

  • 3 Years of Clinical Work Experience Required

  • Must Be Eligible For FL State Licensure As A Physician Assistant (PA) Required

  •  At least one peer reviewed publication while as Instructor. Acceptable publications, such as journal articles, books, and book chapters, shall be published in periodicals or venues recognized by the appropriate academic or professional organizations at the national level and/or professional accrediting associations.
