Position Summary
The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and installing manufacturing equipment and facility systems within a carbon graphite manufacturing environment. This position supports production operations by ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and maintaining a safe and efficient workplace. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and industrial maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment and be comfortable working on a wide variety of production equipment, CNC machinery, ovens/furnaces, dust collection systems, pumps, compressors, and facility systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair industrial manufacturing equipment and machineryÂ
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on production equipmentÂ
- Repair and maintain:Â
- CNC machinesÂ
- Industrial ovens/furnacesÂ
- Hydraulic and pneumatic systemsÂ
- Vacuum systemsÂ
- Pumps and compressorsÂ
- Dust collection systemsÂ
- Conveyors and mechanical drivesÂ
- Material handling equipmentÂ
- Read and interpret:Â
- Mechanical drawingsÂ
- Equipment manualsÂ
- SchematicsÂ
- BlueprintsÂ
- Install and align motors, bearings, shafts, gearboxes, and related componentsÂ
- Perform welding, fabrication, and basic machining as neededÂ
- Troubleshoot electrical controls and work alongside electricians when requiredÂ
- Inspect equipment for wear, safety concerns, and operational deficienciesÂ
- Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and emergency repairsÂ
- Maintain maintenance logs and repair documentationÂ
- Assist with machine installations, upgrades, and facility improvement projectsÂ
- Follow all company safety procedures, OSHA requirements, lockout/tagout procedures, and PPE requirementsÂ
- Maintain clean and organized maintenance and work areasÂ
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability and efficiencyÂ
Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment preferredÂ
- Experience in heavy manufacturing, machining, metals, carbon graphite, or industrial production environments strongly preferredÂ
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting abilitiesÂ
- Experience with:Â
- HydraulicsÂ

- BearingsÂ
- MotorsÂ
- GearboxesÂ
- Belts/chainsÂ
- Industrial pumpsÂ
- Basic electrical troubleshooting experience preferredÂ

- Strong understanding of preventative maintenance practicesÂ
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervisionÂ
- Strong communication and teamwork skillsÂ
Education & Certifications
- High School Diploma or GED requiredÂ
- Technical/trade school training preferredÂ
- OSHA or safety certifications are a plusÂ
- Forklift and scissor lift experience preferredÂ
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularlyÂ
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, and work in confined spacesÂ
- Ability to work in hot, dusty, noisy, and industrial manufacturing environmentsÂ
- Ability to work overtime or emergency call-ins when requiredÂ
Work Environment
This position operates in a manufacturing carbon graphite facility environment and may involve exposure to:
