The Electronics Test & Assembly Team Lead guides a technical team in assembling, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing advanced aviation and radio electronics. This hands-on role combines daily technical work with team coordination to keep production running smoothly, safely, and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership: Assign daily work, train technicians, answer technical questions, and escalate production or material bottlenecks to leadership.
Assembly & Integration: Build and inspect circuit boards, cables, harnesses, and electromechanical subassemblies using schematics, BOMs, and hand-soldering tools.
Testing & Troubleshooting: Perform acceptance testing on digital, analog, and RF components; diagnose product failures down to the component level; execute repairs and re-tests.
Equipment & Quality: Set up and maintain test tools (multimeters, oscilloscopes, analyzers); log build and test data; support root-cause analysis and process improvements.
Requirements
Work Authorization & Physical Demands:
U.S. Citizenship: Required; must be able to pass a U.S. government background investigation.
Shift Flexibility: Ability and willingness to work assigned shifts, alternate schedules, overtime, or extended hours based on production demands.
Physical Ability: Must be able to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs, stand/walk for extended periods, and maintain manual dexterity for small components and tools.
Technical Experience: High School Diploma or GED; 5+ years in electronics assembly, testing, and component-level troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment.
Core Skills: Ability to read schematics and engineering drawings; solid grasp of RF, digital, and analog principles; proficiency with test equipment and precision soldering.
Preferred: Prior experience in a Lead role, background in aerospace/defense/avionics manufacturing, IPC certification (IPC-A-610 / IPC-7711/7721), or an Associate degree in Electronics.
