This position reports to the Housing Solutions Program Manager. The Housing Solutions Supervisor is responsible for the ongoing needs assessment, personal housing stability and service plans, implementation, support, information, referral, and advocacy for individuals who are enrolled in a Mercy House Housing Solutions Programs. This position requires successful working relationships with residents that support their ability to increase their self-sufficiency. This position will influence and recognize positive behavior changes and will identify problems and obstacles that threaten to undermine the residents’ self-reliance and housing stability. This position will ensure that the team is practicing trauma-informed and client-focused strategies while maintaining accurate files and records. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Program Oversight Maintain a caseload of 5-7 individuals. Meet at least once a month with residents to develop emergency plans and individual housing supporting plans based upon the housing assessment that identifies barriers, including short and long-term measurable goals.  Meet with clients in person at their place of residence or in the office Utilize harm reduction interventions and methodologies to provide client-centered services to keep them in housing Utilize skills regarding crisis prevention and intervention Practice Trauma-informed Care and Motivational Interviewing techniques Implement Eviction Prevention strategies to support clients in need Assist clients to build upon their strengths and recognize their needs in a respectful manner Conduct Housing Quality Standards Inspections to ensure that they are properly maintained Be knowledgeable of community resources and link clients as needed. Oversee the facilitation of social and recreational activities designed to promote community involvement and peer support Collaborate with community resources to ensure that residents are linked with services such as employment, education, tutoring and/or mentoring as appropriate Attend trainings that increase knowledge of effectively meeting clients’ needs Facilitate relationship building between property management staff and residents Keep accurate records of files in accordance with program compliance Maintain program rosters up to date Review monthly data bundles and assist with all data collection systems Oversee the residential services provided to the residents in the permanent supportive housing programs including the coordination of holiday and community building events Coordinate the ordering of needed supplies/resources for planned resident activities as needed Team Management Supervise approximately 3-7 Housing Solutions Case Managers to facilitate optimal performance. Demonstrate leadership and team building qualities to implement the mission, ensure quality services and core values of the agency. Work as part of the team to plan and develop resident programs including partnership sand collaboration with property management during the leasing and tenancy phase to promote: 1) effective communication; 2) united service delivery; and 3) a supportive community environment for all clients Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changes Strong reliability and empathetic skills are required Communicate effectively with a diverse population General Keep accurate, up to date documentation on all clients, including but not limited to individual housing plans, emergency plans, case notes, case file, assessments, call logs, Housing Authority (application and recertifications) Complete all paperwork in a timely and accurate manner that ensures payment to the agency from various sources. Complete incident reports in a timely manner as necessary Have knowledge of the county’s Coordinated Entry System and HMIS Facilitate communication between clients and property managers for those clients that are matched to the PSH program Be the point of contact for CES matches to the PSH programs as needed Coordinate intakes and assist in the collection of required documentation from clients to ensure clients move into permanent housing in a timely manner Assist in the collection of client documents for recertifications as necessary Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with the Property Management staff on-site Meet all deadlines as assigned Utilize computers and appropriate software to complete job duties efficiently (e.g. Microsoft: Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point) and/ or specific systems applicable to position. Respond to calls and emails in a timely manner Perform tasks independently and prioritize workload Occasional lifting of items up to 25lbs. (i.e., accepting donated items, etc.)  Maintain confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA laws and regulations Have knowledge of the legal and ethical issues pertaining to housing, including Fair Housing practices Coordinate and/or facilitate trainings for new Case Managers and assist them with day-to-day questions relating to the completion of their job assignments Oversee quality control of Case Files on a quarterly basis to ensure accurate, up to date documentation on all clients, including but not limited to stabilization plans, case notes, etc. Meet with direct reports staff individually at least monthly and with the entire team monthly Conduct 90-day, midyear, and annual reviews Approve and review timesheets to ensure accurate time keeping Approve monthly mileage reimbursement requests as needed Miscellaneous: Assist Program Manager in overseeing social and recreational activities designed to promote community involvement and peer support. Assist Program Manager with volunteers and community resources to assure that residents are linked with services such as employment, education, tutoring and/or mentoring Attend training that increase knowledge of effectively meeting clients’ needs (including co- occurring disorders, harm reduction, and cultural competence) Assist with maintaining program budgets and track program expenditures accordingly Other duties as assigned by management QualificationsEducation and Experience Bachelor’s degree in social work (or related field) with experience working in mental health and co-occurring disorders is preferred. Persons with less than a bachelor’s degree but with at least 2 years of direct life experience working with chronically homeless, low income, diverse populations, and have a working knowledge of mental health and addiction issues are welcome to apply. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Programs is a requirement Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently is required  A valid CA driver’s license, proof of insurance, and a reliable vehicle is required
