Summary

Job Description:

PRN / 8-hour shifts

Start times will vary between 6:30 AM and 8:00 AM, depending on department needs.

Under the direction of the department supervisor, will oversee the daily flow of patients through the department and coordinate daily exam assignments. perform nuclear medicine procedures at a technical level requiring minimal supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation and other forms of energy. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required.

  • Responsible for all records and charting of information related to individual cases.
  • Collects patient histories and other related information, coordinating and communicating with the radiologist and all others as needed.
  • Follows department protocols and produces quality images for each exam.
  • Provides immobilization as required and protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards.
  • Continuously monitors the patient through the exam.
  • Assist Radiologist with exam when necessary and with invasive procedures
  • Effectively uses the EPIC
  • Assists physicians in performance of Nuclear and PET examinations by preparation and administration of radiopharmaceuticals under the directions of a radiologist.

Requirements:

  • Technical Diploma
  • CNMT and/or ARRT(N), and BLS Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy required
