ODOT District 12 is hiring 6 seasonal Highway Maintenance Workers 1 (HMW1) to assist with highway maintenance operations in Lake County during the spring and summer seasons.
The role involves performing various maintenance activities such as flagging, pothole patching, repairing guardrails, litter pickup, and mowing to enhance road safety in Ohio.
This is a seasonal position limited to 1,000 hours, and candidates are required to have formal education in basic arithmetic and English skills, or equivalent qualifications.
No commercial driver's license (CDL) is required unless the worker will be operating motorized snow and ice control equipment.
The position falls under the unskilled labor class as determined by the Director of Administrative Services and does not require a written examination.

Seasonal Highway Maintenance Worker 1 (HMW1) - No CDL Required, Multiple PNs

ODOT District 12 is hiring 6 seasonal team members to support highway maintenance operations across Lake County during the spring and summer seasons.

What You Will Do:

· You will serve the public and work to make the roads in Ohio safer.

· You will perform highway maintenance activities, including flagging, pothole patching, repairing guardrails, litter pickup, and mowing.

This is a seasonal position limited to 1,000 hours.

Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction & in reading, writing & speaking common English vocabulary.

In accordance with Section 124.11(B)(2) of Revised Code, Director of Administrative Services has determined this classification to be unskilled labor class & therefore exempt from written examination. Note: If involved in driving motorized snow & ice control equipment, must also have valid commercial driver’s license.
