This role will work with internal and external customers to design, develop, and field satellite ground control system architectures and be involved through the systems development lifecycle, including pursuit, developing a technical baseline, developing requirements, system level software design, integration support, and system level testing and selloff. Provide hands-on assistance to implementation and R&D teams to execute the development of awarded programs. Serve as technical expert in latest industry trends, tools and methodologies to continuously improve the delivery of our solutions.Ā

Essential Functions:Ā
- Support development and integration of Satellite Ground Systems solutions
- Work with team lead to help decompose the work needed to implement new features or address defects within the operational software.
- Work with the development team using agile methodologies combined with mature software practices and a technology-supported development infrastructure.
- Develop new software and adapt existing software by implementing new capabilities.
- Maintain cognizance of industry tools, best practices, and procedures.
- Interface with customers to understand use cases and define requirements, design Cloud capable solutions, support system level testing, and field the solution in customer environments to support the mission
- Communicate with leadership on status, issues, milestones, and successes.
- Ability to get a SECRET clearance which requires US Citizenship.
Qualifications:Ā
- Bachelorās Degree and minimum 6 years of prior software experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior software experience.
- Linux and Linux tools (sed, grep, awk, top, etc.)
- Experience with at least one of the following: Python, javascript/nodejs/typescript
- Postgres or other SQL database experience
- Cloud platform experience (e.g., AWS)
- Experience with Agile development processes (Agile, Scrum, Continuous Delivery)
- Experience with Agile software development best practices and tools (SAFe, Jira, Git, etc.) and participation in continuous Agile planning and coordination.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Satellite ground systems development and integration
- Ā AWS Solutions Architect and AWS Sys Ops certification(s)
- Ā Application programing with C++
- Excellent ability to analyze problems and to focus and drive down to the root cause of problems quickly.
