Essential Functions:Ā
Read and interpret blueprints.Ā
Bonds a variety of dissimilar materials (composite, metal, or laminate) assemblies, parts, skins, components,Ā equipmentĀ or structures into semi-finished or finished products.Ā Ā
Lays out articles, cuts parts or materials to size.Ā Ā
Applies liquid or solid bonding agents.Ā Ā
Operates autoclave, hydraulicĀ pressesĀ and ovens to complete bonding cycle.Ā Ā
Controls conditions of heat, pressure, and timing by setting andĀ operatingĀ various controls according to the specifications for the materials and the bonding agent being used. Sands,Ā bursĀ and smooth over areas, apply sealing resins to cut or exposed edges.Ā Ā
Monitors and verify quality of finished products.Ā Ā
Completes repairs on composite, metal or laminate bonded products using inspection and rework instructions.Ā Ā
Verify quality of finished productĀ
Recommend and implement continuous improvement activities in production methods, equipmentĀ performanceĀ and team effectivenessĀ

Basic Qualifications:Ā
Composite Bonder level 2:
High School diploma orĀ GEDĀ
MinimumĀ 2 years of composites experienceĀ in an aerospace, military,Ā manufacturingĀ and/or maintenance environmentĀ
This position requires the ability to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include bending, stooping, kneeling, standing, walking, squatting, crawling, twisting, carrying tools, lifting to 35Ā poundsĀ and working with arms overheadĀ
Must be able to access small, confined spaces and work in an enclosed environmentĀ
Ability to pass medical/respiratory evaluation to obtain andĀ maintainĀ necessary respirator clearance and compliance with all respirators fitting requirementsĀ
Must be able to pass a New Hire Physical prior to startingĀ
The ability to work 1st ā5 AM ā 3:30 PMā or 2nd shift ā4:12 PM ā 2:42 AMā and any work scheduleĀ
Ability to obtain andĀ maintainĀ a Government Secret or Top-Secret Clearance as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period, asĀ determinedĀ by the company to meet its business needs. US citizenshipĀ requiredĀ for clearance.Ā
The ability toĀ utilizeĀ a computer for basic functions (including navigating through windows operating systems, getting online, executing online training modules and ability to be trainedĀ using onĀ the job software)Ā
Must successfully complete and pass the āASTAR New Hire Training / Complianceā within a reasonable period, as defined by the company to meet its business need.Ā

Experience with structural subassemblies such as rudders,Ā flapsĀ and stabilizers.Ā
Fiberglass experienceĀ
RV/ Motorhome work experienceĀ
Boat Repair experienceĀ
Completion of A&P certificate program.Ā
Completion of AFAB Certification (115- Structures, 120- Composites, 110- Blueprints, 130- Ethics)Ā
Active Government Secret Clearance with a background investigation completed within the last six yearsĀ Ā

Primary Level Salary Range: $56,000.00 - $93,400.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $66,600.00 - $111,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
