POSITIONSUMMARY
The Data Architect is responsible for designing andvisualizing overall enterprise data management framework. This Data ManagementFramework describes the processes to execute for planning, creation,maintenance, usage, archiving, retrieval, control (secure), and cleanup ofdata. The Data Architect works with other architects and stakeholders toidentify, evaluate, and test relevant tools and platforms to support theexecution of data management framework.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Explore and understand current data structures, and create blueprints for building data management framework
  • Design and implement effective database, data warehouse and/or data lake solutions and data models
  • Define the processes involved in data modeling, testing and maintaining data stores, data warehouse and data lake.
  • Assess database and data warehouse implementation procedures to ensure they comply with policies and regulations.
  • Deploy and maintain data warehouse or data management solutions.
  • Lead data migration from current systems to new solutions.
  • Monitor the  performance of data solutions by performing regular tests, troubleshooting, and implementing new features.
  • Identify and recommend data solutions to for system enhancements.
  • Educate other staff by means of training and or demonstrations.
  • Provide support for production issue investigations by performing root cause analysis and troubleshooting. Offer support by responding to system problems in a timely manner.
  • Prepare accurate data design and data architectureartefacts for management and team members.



Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in data architecture, data engineering, database development, or related technology roles.
  • Strong understanding of the systems/software development lifecycle (SDLC) and enterprise data environments.
  • Experience translating business requirements into scalable and effective technical solutions.

Data Architecture & Engineering

  • Strong experience in data architecture frameworks, standards, principles, and reference architectures.
  • Proven experience in defining data models, metadata, security models, and reference data.
  • Strong understanding of data flows, including data movement, transformation, governance, security, and changes throughout the data lifecycle.
  • Experience with cloud and/or on-premises data warehouse solutions, such as Amazon Redshift and Google Cloud BigQuery.
  • Experience working with Hasura and GraphQL, with an advanced understanding of GraphQL integration with PostgreSQL and SQL Server, is an advantage.
