Logistics Buyer (Industrial Warehouse)

Logistics Buyer | SAP & Strategic Procurement Specialist

Experienced Logistics Buyer with extensive SAP expertise and a strong background in purchasing equipment, materials, and services across multiple business lines. Skilled in strategic sourcing, commercial negotiations, and executing spot purchases exceeding $25,000. Adept at building strong relationships with business units and service providers to ensure efficient procurement operations and cost-effective solutions.

Possesses more than three years of SAP experience, along with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office applications, and Adobe software. Demonstrates a high level of accountability, ownership, and initiative, consistently seeking opportunities to add value beyond assigned responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Solicit and evaluate vendor quotations for equipment, materials, and services.
• Monitor and manage open purchase orders, deliveries, and shipments while ensuring timely execution and compliance with company policies.
• Coordinate with warehouse management to optimize personnel and equipment utilization and ensure customer-specific requirements are met.
• Process daily material requests and convert them into purchase requisitions, escalating critical requirements when necessary.
• Prioritize urgent material requests and hotshot orders to support maintenance and operational needs.
• Conduct routine price negotiations and collaborate with procurement teams.
• Resolve invoice discrepancies between purchase orders, goods receipts, and invoices to facilitate timely payment processing.
• Partner with Strategic Buyers on project and turnaround procurement activities, including identifying purchasing bundle opportunities..
• Maintain purchase orders by updating delivery dates, order notes, and other relevant information.
• Participate in bi-weekly business unit meetings and provide material status updates and procurement reports.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure purchased materials meet required specifications and operational standards.
• Support staging and kitting operations as needed, including operating sit-down and stand-up forklifts.
• Apply knowledge of industrial plant materials, including piping, fittings, transmitters, valves, instrumentation, and related components.
• Participate in a rotating weekend duty schedule to provide procurement support for maintenance and operational activities.
