Position Overview The Assistant Sports Performance Coach will work under the direction of the Director of Sports Performance to design and deliver safe, effective strength, speed, and conditioning programs for middle and upper school student-athletes. This is a part-time position, ideal for a coach looking to gain experience in a school-based athletic performance setting. Key Responsibilities Assist in planning and leading strength, speed, agility, and conditioning sessions for individual teams and general athletic populations Supervise student-athletes in the weight room, ensuring proper lifting technique and safe use of equipment Monitor and enforce weight room safety protocols and facility cleanliness Track athlete attendance and progress; communicate updates to the Director of Sports Performance Assist with warm-up and injury-prevention protocols in coordination with athletic training staff Help maintain training equipment and recommend facility or equipment needs Support special training sessions, camps, or off-season programs as needed Model professionalism and serve as a positive role model for student-athletes Engage robustly in fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion to promote a healthy learning environment; Willingness to take on other duties as needed.  Physical Requirements Work in an environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges and deadlines, as well as a diverse array of contacts; Work in a weigh room or gymnasium; Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Work intermittently in outside weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.  Equal Opportunity Employer In order to provide equal employment and advancement opportunities to all individuals, Poly will recruit, hire, train, and promote faculty and staff without regard to an individual’s race, color, sex, gender identity, genetic information, sexual orientation (including heterosexuality, homosexuality, and bisexuality), national origin, ancestry, citizenship status, uniformed service member status, marital status, pregnancy, age, medical condition and physical or mental disability (whether perceived or actual), or any other consideration made unlawful by federal, state, or local laws.
