The Residential Aide reports to the House Manager. He/she is responsible for the monitoring of the residents, works closely with the supervisor, and communicates all activities of the house.Ā

DutiesĀ

1. Embodies Evaās Villageās core values, voice, and tone in order to provide an exceptional and effective experience for our clients, funders, employees and volunteersĀ
2. Must be completely familiar with all rules of the program.Ā
3. Maintains the sign-in/sign-out sheets.Ā
4. Maintains activities log with NA/AA meetings, van, etc.Ā
5. Maintains the communication book.Ā
6. Responsible for answering the phone, relaying calls, and taking messages.Ā
7. Responsible for mail distribution.Ā
8. Inspects and makes sure that all work details assigned to the residents are completed.Ā
9. Responsible for the security of the program. This includes following the visitor protocol and observing the camera.Ā
10. Monitors and documents client behavior.Ā
11. Must be flexible.Ā
12. Responsible for all incidents concerning resident problems being reported promptly.Ā
13. Promptly reports to the House Manager any problems concerning the van, maintenance, supplies or any household problems.Ā
14. Interface with residents, referring their problems to the proper person resulting in the resident getting the assistance they need.Ā
15. Attends mandatory monthly in-service and staff meetings.Ā
16. Responsible for urine testing/breathalyzers and recording of tests and results.Ā
17. Monitors and documents resident medication.Ā
18. Reports all repairs and wear & tear to House Manager.Ā
19. Responsible for weekly inspection of rooms.Ā
20. Must be completely familiar with policy and procedures of the program.Ā
21. Must be able to perform intake and orientation to the program for new clients.Ā
22. Must be willing to learn client-oriented system of care. This includes the Client Centered Approach as well as the Trauma Informed Care Approach.Ā
23. Serves as a liaison between the residents and House Managers.Ā
24. Oversees periodic special work details.Ā
25. Facilitates didactic/educational groups as assigned.Ā
26. Serves as a role model.Ā
27. Performs crisis intervention when necessary.Ā
28. Responsible for the arrangement of transportation of residents to meetings, hospitals, etc. and if need be, may be asked to drive.Ā
29. Must perform tasks delegated by the immediate supervisor within the scope of the policy and procedures manual.Ā

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or equivalent ā Associate/Bachelorās degree preferredĀ
- Valid driverās licenseĀ
- Thorough knowledge of the 12-step program, AA, NA, and the biopsychosocial model of substance abuse/dependenceĀ
- Ability to speak, read, and write EnglishĀ
- Must be able to work independently and complete assignments with minimal supervisionĀ
- Good interpersonal skills are requiredĀ
- Must maintain a professional demeanor and perform duties effectively in stressful/emergency situationsĀ
- Must be able to maintain objectivity and deal diplomatically with clients and family members.Ā
- Must have at least one year experience in the field
