We are seeking adjunct faculty to teach Public Speaking.


Example of Duties:
  • Teach assigned classes in accordance with the College's academic calendar and approved syllabi
  • Meet all scheduled class sessions 
  • Maintain and report accurate student grade and attendance records using approved procedures and systems 
  • Participate in assessment activities in support of the PCCC institutional effectiveness program 
  • Utilize the appropriate technology, including the College's student learning platform, to fulfill teaching duties 
  • Follow the following guidelines contained in the Adjunct Faculty Handbook (Link can be found on pccc.edu)
Qualifications:
  • Advanced academic preparation in Communication, Speech, Theatre, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, Rhetoric, or a related field (Master’s degree or higher preferred).
  • Demonstrated expertise in public speaking, oral communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to teach foundational and intermediate concepts.
  • Must have availability to teach during the day
  • Experience in college-level teaching,  rubrics, and classroom activities.
  • Strong classroom management abilities and skill in creating inclusive, respectful, and engaging learning and speaking environments for diverse learners.
  • Proficiency with educational technology, such as learning management systems, presentation software, and online resources to enhance instruction.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to provide clear guidance and constructive feedback and learning assessments to students.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff and to support the mission and values of a community college serving diverse communities.

Compensation: The pay for this position is $996 per credit taught.
