We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Paraeducator or Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to support students in moderate needs classrooms in the Boulder, Colorado area, primarily in second and third grades. This full-time position is ideal for candidates with public school special education experience who thrive in a collaborative environment. Applicants must have reliable transportation and experience driving on mountain and canyon roads during snowy winter conditions. Candidates residing in Boulder, Nederland, Ward, Black Hawk, Central City, Rollinsville, Gilpin County, or surrounding Boulder County communities are preferred. The school is located near Eldora Mountain Resort at an elevation of approximately 8,000 feet. Due to limited temporary housing in the area, local applicants are strongly encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
Provide individualized instructional, behavioral, and classroom support to students with moderate special education needs.
Assist special education teachers in implementing IEP accommodations, instructional activities, and established behavior support plans.
Support students in developing academic, social, communication, and daily living skills.
Collaborate with teachers and school staff to maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment.
Monitor student progress, document observations, and communicate student needs to the special education team.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of special education experience in a public school classroom.
- Paraeducator qualifications or active RBT certification, as applicable to the position.
- Experience supporting elementary students with moderate disabilities and behavioral needs.
- Strong communication, flexibility, and teamwork skills.
- Reliable transportation and the ability to commute safely in mountain and winter driving conditions.
