Job Details: Job Location: Harbor Fab HQ Office - Fort Worth, TX, Position Type: Full Time, Salary Range: Undisclosed, Job Category: Business Development, Miscellaneous Steel EstimatorThe Estimators performs conceptual estimates, preparing bid packages, soliciting bids fromsubcontractors, creating scopes of work for the projects, provide estimate input on projects atvarious stages of design development.General Purpose of the Position:Analyzes blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost andlabor estimates for products or services.Primary Responsibilities (grouped by Key Results Areas)Estimating:路 Manages the tracking and issuance of drawings (design, shop and erection) from detailer,internal review, submittal to/from approval, to final issuance for fab/construction to allappropriate parties.路 Tracks documents and updates company project list路 Review to determine material and labor requirements and prepares itemized lists路 Computes cost factors and prepares estimates for management review such as planning,organizing, and scheduling work; preparing bids; selecting vendors or subcontractors;and determining cost effectiveness.路 Conducts special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data oreffect cost reductions.路 Prepare and review structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication estimates, platefabrication, (tanks, hoppers, chutes, ductwork), and specialty items such as dredgepontoons, cranes, log kickers from start to finish.路 Perform value engineering, takeoffs, proposals, and schedule of values路 Verify status of quotes and keep up with market and other trends to enablecompetitiveness.聽Business Development路 Actively maintains knowledge of industry trends and professional technology to presentbest-in-class company image while seeking, accepting, preparing, and presenting clientsproposalsAssist in business development departmental efforts in identifying new workopportunities路 Executes company protocols for deliverables such as bid packages, deliverable formats,and budget projection toolsOrganization:路 Organizes and manages a centralized cost estimating database and a formal process tosupport cost estimating to ensure historical data is utilized路 Analyzes completed projects to compare estimated cost to actual costs and determine thereason for any discrepancies.Administration:路 Provide improvement recommendations to cost estimating procedures to reduce futurediscrepancies between estimated and actual cost路 Identifies cost trends to assist management in cost reduction and process improvementefforts聽Communication:路 Consults with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimatesand resolve issues.路 Interfaces with other individuals in the organization to obtain support and commitment tothe cost estimates.Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:路 Good communication skills路 Complete understanding of steel fabrication and erection路 Experience in Steel Fabrication estimating 5 years minimum.Qualifications:
