Job DetailsJob Location: Lee Health & Rehab Center - PENNINGTON GAP, VA 24277Position Type: Part TimeSalary Range: $13.00 - $17.15 HourlyJOB SUMMARY: The Dietary Aide assists with preparing and serving meals and snacks, maintaining a clean, safe environment, and ensuring that all service ware is cleaned and sanitized following each meal. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Assists with portioning of cold food items and beverages. 2. Prepares and labels between meal snacks and delivers nourishment kitchen stock. 3. Assists with meal set up and delivery. 4. Washes and sanitizes all service ware using infection control procedures. 5. Maintains a clean and safe work environment. Follows assigned cleaning schedule. 6. Complies with established food handling regulations including dietary policies and procedures, local health department instructions, and federal standards. 7. Works cooperatively with dietary staff and other Center personnel. 8. Reports safety and equipment issues to the Director, Maintenance Director, or Administrator. 9. Fulfills in-service training requirements in a timely manner using Silver Chair program. 10. Attends in-service, department, or Center meetings as directed. 11. Treats residents, staff, and visitors with respect. 12. Reports illness and symptoms to Director of Dietary Services promptly. 13. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. 2. Experience with food preparation preferred. 3. Able to understand and follow directions. 4. Good interpersonal skills. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 1. Prolonged periods standing, bending, stooping, and stretching 2. Ability to push, pull, move, or lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
