Minimum Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in any field with major course work in management, recreation management, sports management, maintenance operations, public art programs or library operations. Experience may substitute for education on a year for year basis.

Experience:

  • Requires seven or more years of increasingly responsible professional experience in a related field, including at least three years of supervisory responsibility.

Licenses/Certifications/Special Requirements:

  • Valid AZ Driver’s License upon hire.

    PREFERRED/DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION(s):
  • Experience in a municipal or government setting.
  • Five years minimum of previous supervisory experience is preferred


Hiring Range: $121,193.95 to $150,280.89- Based on qualifications and experience.

What is Peoria Lifestyle? It is the bringing together of all the departments that create an exceptional and unique Peoria quality of life: Arts & Culture, Libraries, Parks, Trails and Open Space, Recreation, Special Events, and Community Facilities such as recreation centers, swimming pools, and performing and visual arts centers.


Peoria Lifestyle brings together the programs, places, experiences, and services that help make Peoria a great place to live, work, play, and connect. As Deputy Director, you will be at the center of this exciting transformation, working alongside the Director and leadership team to shape the department’s vision, strengthen operations, and create exceptional experiences for the community.


The successful candidate will help translate vision into action, providing strategic leadership while ensuring excellence in the day-to-day delivery of programs, services, facilities, events, and patron experiences. This leader will champion innovation, collaboration, continuous improvement, and exceptional customer service, while empowering a talented team to think boldly and deliver meaningful results.
