Charlotte Hungerford Hospital is a 122-bed, general acute care community hospital located in Torrington, Connecticut, that serves as a regional health care resource for the 100,000 residents of Litchfield County and Northwest Connecticut.  CHH offers personalized attention from an expert team of caregivers and physicians that utilize advanced technology and clinical partnerships in a convenient, safe and comfortable patient environment.

POSITION SUMMARY
Assists the surgeon at the sterile field by providing appropriate and adequate sterile instruments and other supplies during the operative procedure.  Maintain the surgical field through aseptic practices. Works under the supervision of the Registered Nurse as a member of the pre-operative team. Assists in the nursing care and preparation of the surgical patient for surgery.  Responsible for the assembly of cases. Works cooperatively with ancillary departments and other team members. Participates in performance improvement activities.  Assists the department as needed. CPR Certification. Certification within one year.


EDUCATION
Graduate of a formal accredited surgical technician-training program.
