About the National Constitution Center
The National Constitution Center is a nonpartisan nonprofit organization devoted to teaching about the Constitution. Located on Philadelphia’s historic Independence Mall, steps from where the Constitution was drafted and signed, it serves as America’s leading platform for constitutional education and debate, fulfilling its congressional charter “to disseminate information about the U.S. Constitution on a nonpartisan basis in order to increase awareness and understanding of the Constitution among the American people.”
The Civic Education for Rural and Remote Communities (CERRC) Fellowship is a highly selective initiative of the National Constitution Center that empowers a small cohort of outstanding educators to bring exceptional civic learning to the communities that need it most. As champions for their regions, CERRC Fellows help ensure that geography is never a barrier to understanding the Constitution—or to participating fully in civic life.
Chosen through a competitive national application process, fellows receive advanced training from the National Constitution Center’s scholars and education team, preparing them to deliver immersive, high-impact professional learning for educators in rural and remote communities. Through in-person convenings, virtual programming, and ongoing regional support, fellows expand access to world-class resources, strengthen local networks, and cultivate spaces for meaningful constitutional dialogue.
This full-time fellowship is designed for educators who are not only exceptional in their craft but driven by purpose—leaders who want to inspire colleagues, elevate students, and leave a lasting legacy of civic learning in their communities. As a CERRC Fellow, you will join a distinguished national network, represent the National Constitution Center in your region, and play a transformative role at a pivotal moment for our democracy.
