What You'll Do
As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will:
• Provide direct care, instruction, supervision, and support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Promote independence, dignity, self-determination, and personal choice.
• Assist individuals with daily living skills and personal development goals.
• Support participants in recreational, educational, vocational, and community-based activities.
• Foster meaningful community involvement and social inclusion.
• Implement individualized support plans and behavioral support strategies.
• Encourage the development of communication, social, and life skills.
• Monitor participant progress and communicate concerns or changes to supervisors.
• Complete documentation and reports accurately and timely.
• Assist with transportation and community outings as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to agency policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
• Collaborate with participants, families, coworkers, and community partners to ensure high-quality services.

Qualifications
Required
• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
• Ability to successfully complete required background checks and training requirements
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Commitment to providing person-centered support services
Preferred
• Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
• Human services, healthcare, education, or caregiving experience
• Experience supporting individuals in community-based settings
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification
Schedule
• Full-Time and Part-Time Opportunities Available
• Flexible schedules available
• Day, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts may be available based on program needs
Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and provide support throughout the workday
• Ability to assist individuals with mobility and daily activities as needed
• Ability to accompany individuals during community outings and activities
• Ability to lift, transfer, and assist individuals when necessary
• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
