What you will do:

The Lead Patient Account Counselor is a key position within our financial services department, responsible for leading a team of patient account counselors to ensure accurate and efficient management of patient accounts. This role requires a detail-oriented and experienced professional with a deep understanding of healthcare billing processes, exceptional leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required 
• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, finance, or a related field preferred
• Three to five years of experience in patient account management, revenue cycle operations, financial counseling, medical billing, or a related healthcare field.
• Proven leadership experience with the ability to motivate and develop a team
• Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare billing processes, insurance verification, claims management, reimbursement methodologies, and patient financial counseling.  
• Strong understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance plans, and patient financial assistance programs.  
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with healthcare billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
