Job Summary

The Field Operations Manager oversees field operations for both new pool construction and pool remodeling. This role provides hands-on leadership and direction to Superintendents, Crew Leads, Technicians, and subcontractors, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and according to company quality standards. The position requires strong field experience, knowledge of the construction process from start to finish, effective problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead teams and maintain accountability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily field operations for new pool construction and remodel projects.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and support to Superintendents, crew leads, field technicians, and subcontractors.
  • Monitor projects in the field to ensure work is being completed according to plans, specifications, schedules, and company standards.
  • Review project progress and identify potential delays, quality issues, or construction concerns.
  • Work directly with crews and subcontractors to troubleshoot and resolve field issues.
  • Coordinate with other Managers and Project Coordinators to ensure schedules and project expectations are aligned.
  • Help establish realistic production schedules and maintain accountability for project milestones.
  • Conduct regular jobsite visits and project inspections.
  • Ensure proper construction sequencing and coordination between trades.
  • Monitor workmanship and ensure projects meet company quality standards.
  • Identify rework, deficiencies, and potential warranty issues before project completion.
  • Assist Superintendents with difficult construction challenges and provide solutions when issues arise.
  • Hold crews and subcontractors accountable for productivity, quality, schedule, and workmanship.
  • Communicate field conditions and project updates to construction leadership.
  • Assist with punch lists, final inspections, and project closeout.
  • Support training and development of Superintendents and field personnel.
  • Help develop and improve field processes, standards, and best practices.
  • Ensure field teams are following company safety and operational procedures.

The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of the new pool construction process, including areas such as:

  • Excavation
  • Steel
  • Plumbing
  • Electrical
  • Shotcrete
  • Tile
  • Coping
  • Decking
  • Interior finishes
  • Equipment installation
  • Startup and completion
  • Trade and subcontractor coordination

Remodel Experience

  • Experience with pool remodels is highly valued, including:

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of residential construction experience, with strong preference for pool construction and/or remodeling experience.
  • Strong knowledge of both new pool construction and pool remodels.
  • Previous experience leading Superintendents, crews, subcontractors, or field teams.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing and trade coordination.
  • Ability to read and understand construction plans and scopes of work.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to identify construction issues and develop practical solutions.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to hold field personnel and subcontractors accountable while maintaining positive relationships.
  • Highly organized with strong follow-through.
  • Comfortable spending the majority of the workday in the field.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

  • We're looking for someone who knows how to build a pool—not just manage a schedule.
  • The right person will be comfortable walking a jobsite, talking with crews, identifying construction issues, answering questions, and making decisions in real time. They should be someone our Superintendents and crews can go to when they need help solving a problem in the field.
