Responsibilities

Valley Hospital is looking for an HR Intern based in our phoenix facility. The HR Intern will support the our Human Resources department by assisting with day-to-day Human Resources operations and initiatives under the guidance of the HR Director. This role provides hands-on experience across various HR functions, including recruiting and onboarding, employee engagement, data entry and reporting, training coordination, and HR compliance. The intern will gain exposure to both administrative and strategic aspects of HR in a fast-paced distribution environment, helping to enhance employee experience and support overall business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Support the HR Director in daily HR operations within the HR Department.
  • Assist with recruitment efforts for hourly positions, including job postings, resume screening, interview coordination, and onboarding activities.
  • Supports the full employee lifecycle, including HR orientations, feedback meetings, and exit interviews.
  • Stays up to date on HR laws and regulations and ensures compliance in all HR activities.
  • Help coordinate employee engagement activities, recognition programs, and communication initiatives.
  • Respond to general employee inquiries and direct them to the appropriate resources as needed.
  • Participate in process improvement projects to enhance HR systems and workflows.
  • Provide administrative support for filing, auditng in performance management, safety, and policy implementation activities.
  • Collaborate with HR and operations teams to ensure a positive and productive work environment.

Qualifications

  • Student or recent graduate in Human Resources, Management, or other Business major OR in a similar field
  • Microsoft Office is life –proven, proficient user of MS Office (specifically Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • High level of comfort in a fast-paced environment, juggling multiple projects efficiently and changing priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Possess an entrepreneurial spirit to fully own and have pride in the work assigned.
  • Previous internship or work experience preferred.
