Position Overview:

Our Quality Engineer will play a key role in Spirit鈥檚 AS9100 Quality Management System, overseeing nonconformance management, quality metrics, documentation control, and internal audit programs. This position ensures full compliance with aerospace industry standards while driving continuous improvement across quality processes.


Essential Job Functions:

路 Perform inspection and material disposition for CCA and piece-part processing聽

路 Review Supplier First Article Inspections (FAIs) and generate internal FAIs in accordance with AS9102聽

路 Process and complete Supplier Corrective Action Reports (SCARs) using the 8D methodology聽

路 Generate and analyze quality metrics to identify, investigate, and resolve trending issues聽

路 Provide quality support for nondestructive testing activities to MILSTD883 semiconductor standards

路 Provide cross-functional support to develop processes and support organizational projects聽

路 Apply configuration management principles, including the control and preservation of quality records聽

路 Oversee supplier quality performance and conduct supplier quality oversight activities聽

路 Conduct internal and external audits in compliance with AS9100 requirements聽

路 Lead or participate in risk management activities聽

路 Interface directly with customers on quality related matters聽

路 Promote and sustain a culture of continuous improvement聽

路 Utilize and maintain quality database functions聽

路 Work with GIDEP processes and supplier Product Change Notices (PCNs)聽

路 Develop and generate quality control and technical documentation聽

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor鈥檚 degree in engineering, quality management, business, supply chain management, or related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in AS9100 Quality Management Systems and at least 3 years within semiconductor industry, board assembly facility, or circuit card assembly industry聽
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively with peers, executives, and customers聽
  • AS9100 Lead Auditor certification or equivalent experience聽
  • Expert knowledge of aerospace quality requirements including IPCJSTD001 with Space Addendum and IPCA610聽
  • Knowledge and experience with AS9102 and associated requirements聽
  • Experience working with MILSTD883 standards聽
  • Green Belt certification demonstrated analytical and problem-solving expertise聽
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects聽
  • Knowledge of risk management methodologies, including PFMEA and Control Plans聽
